Encounters of the Saturn kind

I encountered Jupiter MD four years into my job life. Jupiter is my Lagna lord and sits in Asc. It was an amazing ride. Money, homes, vehicles, travels, food. I would think of something and there would be four options to get it done. Everything I ventured into, gave me success with relative ease. Got married, blessed with a child, and bought homes. There were ups and downs but overall, one of the best times of my life so far.

Cut to Jupiter-Rahu dasha sandhi. My job life suddenly started slowing down and became confusing. My role got diluted. I still got good money but work dwindled. There was excessive confusion around my work life with little clue about what to do, something which I was oblivious to in my Jupiter MD.

    Then came Saturn.

Things became dead slow. I still was able to get new roles, but it came to me after 18 months of searching for what to do. In Jupiter MD I had never seen a day without any consulting assignments, sometimes two at a time. Now, I had zero for months. Please note, money still was flowing in though – I guess Jupiter in Asc ensured the benefic blessing.

Finally, I got a new assignment. It forced me to change my city, leave my home and settle into a much compact rental apartment (Shani – compact). My bosses in my Jupiter MD used to love me and I absolutely enjoyed their attention. My new boss in Saturn MD would berate me, insult me and mock me in public. A complete alien place for me to be in, after 17 years of pampering and ginger gloves. Living conditions had seen a scene of change of their own. Considering the traffic situation, I had taken an apartment near the office, so I could walk to the office. Although it’s a privilege in my city to live so near to the office, notice how I am now not going to my karma-sthan in my AC car, but walking 15 mins each way. Shani governs bones, legs, and feet in our chart. When we walk, we align to Shani.

Health conditions improved, but work conditions remained tough. After some time, I was able to bring some method to the madness of work and finally had some ease in execution. It didn’t last long though, as, in Shani MD, somehow I was not allowed a moment of rest. My boss resigned, and now it was chaos all again. In came a new boss. OMG. Never in my life, I had worked with such a person. I went through episodes of major public ridicule, chaos, and insults and had to reinvent myself in my way of handling work and people. While all this was happening in my professional life, I bought a new home (a bigger place – look at my guts to do that in a Saturn MD.) With a slow grind, my role and work both had a professional famine. Money still came but I lost purpose in work. I used to wonder why are they paying me. Once a successful consultant, I was now making ppts for other folks to present (serving others…Saturn)

Finally, a new job opening came up. But not to my surprise it was 2.5 hours one way from my home. I tried driving for a few months. Toiled. Major hard work. Major body pains. At some point, it became difficult to sustain. So, I decided to move near the office. Took a rental place, much smaller than my own home (Saturn – minimalistic).

I had never faced these situations in my Jupiter MD. Everything in Saturn had associated hurdles to cross. I am not complaining though, as I feel there are many folks in this world who have so many pains to handle. What Saturn has given me is a minuscule taste of hardships. I guess it has something to do with the Jupiter aspect on Saturn in 5tth house. As an astrology student and an observer, I have noticed things change in my Saturn MD. Saturn being in my 5th, so it continues to make me think hard about my 11th house (what do I want to do). It’s a grind I have gotten used to by now.

This post is not to scare people away from Saturn. It’s the opposite. It’s a message to tell people how to align to this great planet. Hoping some of my experiences help others build a sound foundation for their upcoming Saturn MD.
